It’s a piece of software that takes your singing and attempts to create appropriate background music and rhythm tracks to accompany you. All you have to do is sing to a metronome, and it does the rest of the work. The results range from bland to soul-negating.

I decided to see what would happen if I played some of my vocals from the 24-track masters of a Boxes song through the system. I chose this song because the vocals start quickly, the key changes several times during the song, and it’s a depressing mope caught on tape. Perfect fodder for a cheery MIDI makeover.
